Summer has arrived (despite the Great British weather) and the wedding season is well and truly upon us. So what's in and what's hot this Summer for wedding bouquets? If you are looking for some inspiration for your wedding flowers, I'd love to help.
I've noticed a real trend in natural, rustic and organic bouquets. Think English Country Garden, with a twist of romance and you've got the ideal wedding bouquet this Summer. Picking flowers that are in season is an absolute must from English roses to classic Hydrangeas. Pretty Stocks in a range of beautiful colours are also popular and are abundant in the Summer months.
Wedding bouquets should not be overly structured (picture slightly tousled hair on the beach, rather than a formal pony tail). Loose arrangements of beautiful English flowers from blush pink to plum purples and aubergine, will create a romantic and wistful edge.
Nosegay bouquets are increasingly popular which are handtied posies, where the stems are wrapped tightly often with organza or lace. These bouquets often contain more greenery than traditional bouquets, again creating a natural and rustic edge. These beautiful bouquets are created with a cluster of flowers made of the focal flower (perhaps roses, sunflowers or peonies), filler flowers (such as Stocks, sweet peas, ammi, gypsophilia or sweet williams) and plenty of deep green or silvery foilage. These bouquets create fairytale wedding flowers, with a very natural twist.
Flower Monkey based in Berkshire has worked with hundreds of brides to create the wedding flowers that are perfect for them. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss your ideas.
