David Austin Roses

By FlowerMonkey, Jul 29 2016 10:00AM

This Summer, the flower of choice has often been the David Austin Rose. These stunning roses have become increasingly popular within the last few years and have been taking the wedding industry by storm this season. From blush pinks and peach to vibrant ruby reds, creamy buttermilks to plush purples, there is a colour to suit every wedding.

As winners of 22 Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medals, it is no wonder that David Austin roses are stunning flowers with an amazing fragrance.

This Summer, I was lucky enough to work with the following roses in my bridal bouquets: Beatrice, Juliet, Keira and Patience.

The beautiful BEATRICE is David Austin’s first true gold rose. With its rich coloring and delightful scent it is ideal for summer weddings and events. The fragrance has hints of lilac, almond and myrrh.

The unusual and sophisticated colour of JULIET is predominantly pale peach and is one of the most poplar roses with a light, fresh fragrance.

KEIRA’s blooms are subtly different, blending from blush pink to cream to light pink, sometimes within the same rose. The waved appearance of its outer petals make Keira look like it has been freshly cut from the garden.

PATIENCE is a delightful buttermilk rose with ruffled petals with the appearance of fine lace. The romantic colour, combined with a fragrance of fruit, lilac and myrrh make this rose ideal for fairytale weddings.

With Autumn and Winter firmly on their way, David Austin also offers roses from dark crimson to gorgeous gold. Which rose would you pick to compliment your wedding theme? At Flower Monkey, based in Berkshire, we would love to create your dream bridal bouquet, using David Austin’s roses.
